Train leaders who actually change how teams work

We run intensive leadership programmes for directors, senior managers and founders who need to make better decisions under pressure, manage conflict honestly and build teams that deliver without micro-management.

Why we exist

Most leadership training fails because it stays theoretical. Participants sit through two days of slides, collect a certificate and go back to managing exactly the way they did before. We built ExecLead Development to fix that.

Our programmes are built around live scenarios drawn from your own business. Participants practise difficult conversations, run simulated board meetings and receive candid feedback from peers and facilitators. Every module ends with a concrete action plan tied to a real project, deadline or team challenge waiting on their desk.

We work exclusively with groups of six to twelve. Smaller cohorts mean harder questions, more honest feedback and no place to hide behind polite nodding.

What we offer

Each programme is structured around observable behaviour change, not abstract competency frameworks.

Senior leadership intensives

A five-day residential programme for directors and C-suite leaders. We cover strategic decision-making under uncertainty, stakeholder communication and the psychology of high-performing teams. Cohorts are capped at eight. Each participant receives a 360-degree feedback report before the programme begins so we can focus on real gaps, not assumed ones.

First-time manager bootcamp

Designed for people in their first twelve months of managing others. Over three days we cover delegation, giving feedback that people act on, handling underperformance and running meetings that respect everyone's time. Participants leave with a personal development plan reviewed by their line manager.

Executive coaching (1-to-1)

Six-month coaching engagements for individual leaders facing specific challenges: a restructure, a promotion into a bigger role, or a team that is underperforming. Sessions run fortnightly for 75 minutes. Between sessions, we set practical assignments and review progress against agreed metrics.

Board effectiveness reviews

We observe two board meetings, interview each member individually and produce a confidential report on group dynamics, decision quality and information flow. The review includes a facilitated session where the board agrees on three to five changes and a follow-up review at six months.

Change leadership workshops

When your organisation is going through a merger, technology migration or restructure, middle managers carry the weight. This two-day workshop gives them a framework for communicating change, managing resistance and keeping their own energy intact during prolonged uncertainty.

Conflict resolution training

A one-day programme focused entirely on handling disagreement productively. Participants practise with actors playing difficult colleagues, frustrated clients and resistant team members. We cover de-escalation techniques, structured mediation and knowing when to involve HR versus handling things yourself.

How an engagement works

From first conversation to measurable results, here is what to expect.

Discovery conversation

We spend 45 minutes understanding your organisation, the specific leadership gaps you see and the business outcomes you need. No sales pitch. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and suggest alternatives.

Diagnostic assessment

We gather data through 360-degree feedback surveys, structured interviews and, where relevant, observation of meetings. This takes two to three weeks and gives us a clear picture of what to prioritise.

Programme design

We build a programme around your real scenarios, your industry context and the specific people in the room. Off-the-shelf content makes up less than 20% of any programme we deliver.

Delivery and follow-through

Programmes run at your offices or at a venue we arrange. After delivery, every participant receives a follow-up coaching call at four weeks and twelve weeks. We re-run the diagnostic at six months so you can see what changed.

What clients say

Feedback from leaders who completed our programmes.

"I have been on dozens of leadership courses over 20 years. This was the first one where I actually changed how I run my Monday meetings. The simulation exercises were uncomfortable in the best possible way."

"The 360 feedback report was hard to read. But the coaching sessions afterwards helped me see patterns I had been ignoring for years. My team's engagement scores went up 18 points in six months."

"We brought them in to help our newly promoted managers. Three months later, two team leads who had been struggling with delegation were running their teams with noticeably less friction. Concrete results."

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers to the questions prospective clients ask most often.

How many people can attend a programme?
Our intensives run with six to twelve participants. Smaller groups get more individual attention, and the group dynamics stay honest. For larger leadership populations, we run multiple cohorts over several months.
Do you deliver programmes outside Wales?
Yes. We deliver across the UK and have run programmes in Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany. Travel and accommodation costs are quoted separately. We can also deliver parts of a programme remotely, though we strongly prefer at least two days face-to-face.
What does a programme cost?
A two-day workshop for up to twelve participants typically costs between £8,000 and £14,000 depending on the amount of bespoke scenario design and pre-programme diagnostic work involved. Executive coaching engagements start at £3,500 for a six-month engagement. We provide a detailed quote after the discovery conversation.
How do you measure results?
We re-run the 360-degree feedback survey at six months and compare scores. We also track specific behavioural commitments each participant makes during the programme. For coaching clients, we agree on three measurable goals at the start and review them formally at the end.
Can you work with our internal L&D team?
Absolutely. About a third of our clients have an in-house learning team. We co-design programmes with them, train their facilitators on our methods and hand over materials so they can sustain the work after our engagement ends.
